To obtain acceptable detection thresholds the calcification of the bone must be completed, if the bone is too young it looks more like cartilage which is not detectable.
Bone fragments are found in all meat processing but more surprisingly they are present in the field (rodents for example) and can be stirred up in vegetable or cereal crops.
